Graduation sessions are bitter sweet. It is the end of one chapter, but the beginning of another. I love being able to look back and reflect on their accomplishments and cheer them on. When Savana asked me to do a graduation session, I could hardly believe that Savana, my little cousin would be graduating in a few short days. Where in the world did the school year go?

Charlie & Rachel | Country Engagement Session
They met at a gas station, but not formally. Charlie knew who Rachel was, but Rachel did not know Charlie. Charlie saw her from across the store and then did a double-take, just to make sure that it was her. He watched her from across the store for a short time, then he moved so that he could get the perfect angle and took a selfie with her in the background.
Katherine & Layton | High School Sweethearts
It all started in the Home Economics room their sophomore year, the teacher assigned them to seat near each other. Katherine had her eye on Layton for quite some time leading up to this, however she still wasn’t completely sure what his name was. Layton would slyly tease her, and Katherine fired right back at him. When it came to who would ask who out, it almost turned into a game. Katherine told Layton’s friends he needed to ask her out, but he told them no. She finally turned around in band class one day and said “Layton! Will you go out with me?”. Their individual personalities show through in their relationship, but so does their love and teamwork.
Shelby | Senior Portraits
She walked up with her hair blowing in the breeze and a thoughtful look on her face as she looked off into the distance. The fall sunlight fell perfectly on her face and then she let out a laugh. Timid at first, but it soon turned into a full on laugh with a big smile.
Payton | Senior Portraits
She pulled up in an old pickup truck, not a care in the world with the wind in her hair. Green flannel shirt, blue jeans, red lipstick and a hand tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. She looked like she had just walked out of a country song.
Erik | Senior Portraits
Erik walked out in a white suit with black trim and an orange vest. In the midst of the park walkers and joggers turned to see what the special occasion was. To them it was just another normal day, another lap around, another mile through the same park. But to Erik, it was not a normal day, it was far from it. It was his first senior night, his first fall homecoming as a senior and it was his senior pictures. As the sun was beginning to set one journey was slowly coming to an end. But the beginning of another was slowly brewing in the background.
Kadie & Denton | Engagement Session
It was a fall day, they were standing in the midst of a tall cornfield off a dirt road. The sun was setting and the beginning of a sunset was visible through the corn stalks. Kadie whispered into Denton’s ear and she instantly let out a laugh. Not a small laugh, but a giant genuineContinue reading “Kadie & Denton | Engagement Session”
Michelle | Union Station, Wichita KS
This girl does a little bit of everything. She works full time, takes online classes, has a cat (Gracie) and models! She has her plate full, but this future Aerospace Engineer manages it with ease. Michelle and I had the opportunity to explore downtown Wichita, and it did not disappoint. From the buildings to theContinue reading “Michelle | Union Station, Wichita KS”
MiKayla & Isaac | ICT Pop-Up Park & Wichita Skyline
Isaac made a joke so cheesy that you could almost feel the Earth rolling. But it was just MiKayla rolling her eyes. Then she let out the slightest hint of a smile and you could tell in that moment that she didn’t think his joke was cheesy at all. They bumped back and forth asContinue reading “MiKayla & Isaac | ICT Pop-Up Park & Wichita Skyline”
