It’s almost springtime, which means everything is starting to come back to life!! This also means it will start warming up and we will have more sessions! I love the springtime colors and blossoms.
One question that I get asked all the time from my clients is what should I wear for my session?
Here’s 7 tips to help you pick out your outfits for your session
1. Wear something that you are comfortable in. If you choose an outfit that you are not 100% comfortable in, chances are you will feel uncomfortable and may have a difficult time relaxing.

2. Wear layers. Layers help add dimension and depth to photos. Layers can also help accent your favorite features about yourself.

3. Stick with clothing without complex patterns. Complex (busy) patterns can appear distracting on camera, especially if multiple people in the photos are wearing complex patterns.

4. Pick colors that complement each other. If you choose colors that are similar colors, they may blend together in photos. If your clothes have a pattern, I recommend a pattern that “pops”.

5. Pick a more dressy outfit for one of your outfits. It’s not everyday that you get to dress up, so have a little bit of fun with it! Do you have that date night outfit that you’ve only worn once? Break it out again and show it off!!

6. For sessions with multiple people, coordinate outfits don’t match. When you coordinate outfits they complement each other. If everyone matches many times it can look overwhelming and everyone starts to blend together.

7. Don’t be afraid to add accessories such as a necklace, earrings or bracelet. Something as simple as adding jewelry can elevate an outfit. Also, the type of jewelry can make such a difference with an outfit. Such as a small necklace or a large statement necklace.

Do you have a go-to outfit(s) for photos that you often wear for photos? I encourage you to branch out a little bit and wear a new outfit and change it up!
